Exams are passed!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a really hard day today. At first, we had macroeconomics exam. You know, it’s very hard to pass it, because there are a lot of material and the teacher is very strict. But I like those professors, who teach us in a strict way, because in reality they are kind and good people. Anyway, yesterday, he said to prepare for the exam and I did. I really DID)))

Coming to 9 o’clock with a frighten of being late, we all set down in waiting of EXAM. He said: “there is no cheating, chattering or something else. So,let’s start. Oh, I’ve forgotten, Gavrylova, you are free. You receive ‘A’ automatically for the good work thorough the semester. Why are you sitting – are in you shock?” Aha, I was…))))))))

Then we had ANOTHER EXAM -introduction to International Business. Mr.Haponiev was nice today and just a minute ago, I knew that he looked at our works (mine and Nastya Efimova) and said they are good. He is pleased. We are pleased too that exams are over.

There are still like kind of exam (‘zachet’) on Monday.  But philosophy is a really interesting and not so hard class – I like it.I think there’ll be no problem.

Today it was an official ceremony dedicated to the Stalin’s regime victims. It took part in Bukovnya’s forestdsc09583.jpg, where hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were murdered.  dsc09571.jpgThe President of Ukraine, Victor Yuschenko, held this ceremony and made a great speech. He shoved that he is really a Patriot and he feels a deep pain about his Motherland and its people.

Here are some quotes from his impressive talk:

dsc09562.jpg“The Bukovnya’s forest is the special place, that has a long dark story. At first, in 1920s, the great bolshevics opressions against Ukrainians were transformed into mass murders here. Then, in 1930s, communistic government, in head of Stalin continued his great “cleanings” (‘chistki’). And after that, during WWII, in 1941-1945, Germans killed Ukrainians in that forest…”dsc09557.jpg

“Our historicans  say that 100-120 thousands were killed. What nation can count its people like that? It doesn’t matter 100 thousands, or 101, or 110… How can we not to appreciate  people’s life in that way? How?” dsc09561.jpg

dsc09560.jpg“Bolshevics killed Ukrainians because they were ‘nationalists’, intelligentsia, and patriots.

Communists killed them because they didn’t want smart  and conscious people to be alive, they needed only ones to obey .

Germans killed Ukrainians just because they didn’t like them…”dsc09579.jpg

And what about those mothers with sick body, but strong will? What about those wife’s and sister’s full-of-tears eyes? And what about those hungry poor children without parents or (what even worse) WITH parents became orphans. Like Ukraine became an orphan in the indifferent arms of this harsh and strict machine, which name was Stalin’s terror… dsc09564.jpg

Flowers with love

As I promised to Luckypenguine, I’ll write about a mystery event with my flower in my kitchen. You can believe it or not, but ther is only Truth. Really…

It all started from that my grandmother had a birthday. As you can understand she received many many flowers. And one of them was in a pot. Two or three days later it started to dry up.

My granny, such a little funny lady, said to my grandfather: “If you love me from your whole heart, this flower won’t die! hold it in your hands and we’ll see!” Actually, she said it just for fun. But my grandfather is not as fun as his wife, he is a serious man,  and he believed her words. He held a flower in his arms, murmured something and give it back. Everybody was smiling while watching it and then we all went for our own deals.

Next morning, my granny entered the room and said: “Let’s go?” – “Where?” – “You’ll see…”

When I saw this beautiful blossoming flower, I was really shocked. I couldn’t believe it – this flower, yesterday dieing, was so fresh today. I went to my grandfather and asked what did he do with it. His eyes were so clear and honest, that I couldn’t NOT Believe them:

“Nothing. I just love…”

Eurovision – 2007

SERBIA is the winner in face of young talented girl Anna Maria Sheryfovich!

When she started to sing, there was only her shadow visible. And then, when her voice started going higher, we could see her. It was a really great effect. Her sing was “Molitva” (“Prayer”) and she deserved the price! All Serbia sing that song with her all the night. People were so happy to know they won, participating for the first time.

And it was interesting for me (as for Ukrainian) thatI could understand some meaning of words in this Prayer. Now I realized how close  our Slavic nations are and how we similar. It’s great!!!

Our participant Andrey Danulko, more known as Verka Serdyuchka, took the second place this time in Eurovision in Helsinki, Finland. He (she?)  was very popular during the preparation for this competition and when he started to sing and dance, everybody stood up and danced with him. I am proud of him to take such a high place)))

The way we go in hands of God

I was driving in a car with my father and grandmother when it happened. We were going in a market to buy a present for my other granny (she is 78 today). So, there were two ways to get there – by using two different streets.

…People really don’t think a lot about what way to go and which street to use. Yeah, they do sometimes, but only in context to not get in a traffic jam…

So, when we were to turn, my father asked: “Turning left?” I answered – “No, let’s go right.” He agreed. Just a few seconds after turning on the other street, we heard a terrible sound – there was no doubt, it was a crash…

Can not believe we could be on their place (nevertheless they are all alive). It was God who saved us from that. And for those, who don’t believe in God, I want just to add: when you have a strong Belief in your heart, even relating to that you look beautiful today (even if you don’t :), then you really are and people don’t stop telling you are amazing today. And when you believe that some Force watch on you,not for criticizing, but for helping, then it really does (if you deserve, of course).

I was taught is such ideological traditions, that I believe in God, that is changeable and Destiny which is unchangeable God’s creation.

So, I can only say “Thank you for saving my life and my human body!”

Victory

pobeda_01.jpgToday is the most sensitive day . This is a holiday with the tears in the eyes – the DAY OF VICTORY! Everyone is touched by seeing all those veterans and heroes of the WWII. They are so unsecured and helpless, but when they were young, they sacrificed lives for the Motherland, families and Victory!

Don’t forget about these people and don’t forget they need you love and respect…

Credit? Debit? )))

Today we had a guest lecturer from San Diego, California state. His name is Scott Spencer Papathakis. At first, he shared with us some personal information. He has many hobbies starting by letter ‘C’ (Cars, Cookies, etc.) Scott showed us his home city and its beautiful beaches. The temperature there is +20-25 degrees in winter!!! We have -20 )))

Anyway, his presentation was about the Credit system, in particular, American one. It was sooo interesting! Scott had really great prepared for this event and thus the information was important and not boring. We’ve known much new about the American Credit system and it’s a pity Ukraine doesn’t have such…

Then, he asked a lot of question and if someone answers correctly – he gives a card. Two, who get more cards than the others, receive the half-dollar silver coin of 1943. I am lucky  – me and Vika B. were the most active and we’ve got those precious presents!

And plus, Scott Papathakis said it’s not his first trip to Ukraine – he is here for the sixth time. And he visited our University three times. He said, everytime he is here he is in good mood. Musik to my ears!)))

I am thankful to our University and am really happy to study here – because we learn not only through reading books or texts, but also through the communication. And, it’s even more important.

When the LOVE dies

Walking down a very old, famous street Saksaganskiy back from my friend, I had a time to think about a lot of things. SHE didn’t know what to do – She loved one guy for three years and He treated Her not as She wanted that to be. I mean She wanted be His girlfriend and He didn’t ‘see’ Her love. Now, He offered Her to marry him, but She refused.

At first, I was shocked: “How could you? You told me you love him!?” But She said He’s too late. “There are the moments when you become absolutely indifferent to the beloved person”, She said.

Walking home I thought about this. If you are really in love with ALL your heart, then how can you be indifferent, how can you forget your feelings and just live without your lover?

From the other side, when you see your love doesn’t give any results, but only insults you – what’s for to waste your time and years? It’s hard, but you have to choose between happiness, stability and just unexpected hobby. Love and passion are different things. But friendship is the most powerful base for real love. Respect is even more important while living together. That is how it might be, but…

She says She doesn’t blame Him and doesn’t feel unhappy – on the contrary. She is thankful to Him, because She’d learned a lot. I think She’s right – everybody has something to learn from and it’s very important to make a conclusion. We all become wiser by the price of mistakes and losses.

And our love doesn’t dies just steps up onto the new level…

Gears

Yesterday Maria showed us a 4 minute movie of her brother, which is called “Gears”.

This movie impressed me very much – at first I even could say anything, because there were too many thought in my mind.

it was also interesting how differed people’s impressions after watching it. I showed it everyone at home and to some of my friend too. Most of them said the movie is about LOVE, some – about that people have to work and not just have fun all the time, etc.

As for me, gears are the symbols of human beings (doesn’t matter where – in the whole world, city or little village). They dance, they love, they feel, they create, they inspire, they have emotions, BUT they also have their own place in this crazy system (clock).  Thismain heroes – two gears – are moving on the rhythm of a very strict, unstopping machine, which actually, doesn’t consider them as special ones. But for them they are the only ones on the Earth. Like for somebody you are just a part on the whole world, and for the other the whole world is in you.

I am thankful to the author of this movie, because he showed up an actual issue and many discussions are now about this little, tender two gears…
